Day 1 Hanoi – Vu Linh (180 km)
Today will be the beginning of an unforgettable 6 day motorbike adventure. Our destination is the northernmost province of Vietnam bordering China. Han Giang province is characterised by its incredible scenery. From large, conical limestone peaks to plummeting, cratered valleys, it is considered to be the last frontier for adventurous travellers to Vietnam. Thankfully, in the last few years the road conditions between Ha Giang, Dong Van and Meo Vac have greatly improved allowing this to become one of the best motorbike tours in the country. So prepare yourself for riding on mountain passes that cling onto cliff faces; journey high up into the magical limestone karst mountains to look down on raging rivers and travel the back roads through the forests.
Our journey will start on the western side of Hanoi. After a quick briefing we will ride the motorbikes along the Red River. The roads are not difficult for motorbike touring. Our first stop will be Thac Ba Lake before heading up the rugged path to Vu Linh, which is home to the Dzao indigenous people.

Day 2 Vu Linh – Ha Giang (180 km)
After breakfast, we will continue our journey by riding along Thac Ba Lake. This section of road is quite bumpy but very picturesque with lines of trees on both sides and the massive mountains creating a backdrop. You can also observe the life of the local ethnic people and their dependence on the mountain ranges and forests. You may even judge this section of the ride as the most impressive.
We will arrive in Ha Giang in the late afternoon. Time to relax whilst we obtain permission to ride along the Chinese border.

Day 3 Ha Giang – Dong Van (180 km)
Today, we have permission to ride along the Chinese border. Here the scenery is stunning as we ride our bikes through winding mountain passes. This will be the most relaxing ride of the tour.
We will ascend to the Ma Pi Leng mountain pass, another incredible masterpiece of nature, with its panoramic view down to Nho Que River. The natural beauty of this area continues as we make our way to Dong Van plateau, a remote area in Ha Giang with many hill tribes living on the rugged monoliths. There are a range of ethnic minorities in this area, notably the Dzao, Giay and Hmong. You will be surprised by their fortitude and ability to conquer the harshest conditions.
Our final stop of the day will be the ancient town of Dong Van where you can admire the many old houses built with clay bricks and tiled roofs.

Day 4 Dong Van Plateau – Bao Lac (90 km)
Today will be a tough ride as many of the roads are still under construction and the challenge will be avoiding potholes. As compensation though, you will see some glorious scenery of this untamed area of Northern Vietnam.
Our rest stop will be in the town of Bao Lac. Bao Lac sits near the border to China and is a major gathering point for many ethnic groups to conduct their trading. If you are here on a Sunday, you will be fascinated by an authentic, mountain market.

Day 5 Bao Lac – Ba Be Lake (155 km)
This morning we will descend from the high mountain range to the greatest natural lake in Vietnam, Ba Be Lake. Ba Be lake is one of the most beautiful, peaceful and tranquil areas in the country. If time permits, a boat ride around the lake is a must.
This evening we will enjoy the hospitality of our Homestay family. This is a unique experience and one which you are bound to enjoy.

Day 6 Ba Be Lake – Hanoi (230 km)
Today will be an early start as we make our way back to Hanoi. Ideally we will arrive around 4:00pm well and truly before rush hour. It will be a long day on the bikes but well worth all the effort. End of our services! See you on your next adventure!
